The use of vehicles in the front line provision of animal welfare services is not, of course, anything new. Nor is the need to transport working animals. But that said, at Trailtrek what we do offer something new, exciting and innovative. First and foremost we are not a standard vehicle body builder or van converter. We all love and care for animals and we put their needs first…..followed not too far behind by the needs of the driver!

Up until now it hasn't mattered whether you work in the dog warden sector, rescue of wild life or work for a charity helping domestic pets…the only way to get a vehicle built was to use the services of a traditional vehicle body builder or vehicle conversion company. These companies (and all of us here grew up in this industry) are talented, but not animal specialists. As such they rely on established body building methods, which are rarely animal friendly and often make vehicles expensive, unnecessarily heavy and more so impractical for in transit sanitation or simple cleaning. Sharp corners, protruding fittings and other "standard body building methods" often pose a risk to the animals in transit or at least are uncomfortable for them.

Another oft spoken problem of traditional approaches to these vehicles is the permanent nature of the installations. This means that items such as kennels cannot be removed and transferred, significantly reducing the resale value of each vehicle and increasing the cost of the next.

Our own in house kennel, cage and equipment systems have been developed by our parent company, Animedic Ltd, over many years of supplying vehicles to the veterinary profession and we know we combine animal welfare with really cost effective vehicle solutions.
